What Does “The Power of Human Potential” Mean?
The theme places human capability at the centre of the festival’s conversations about the future.
Katy Arnander, Chief Programming Officer at SXSW London, described it as both a programming direction and an invitation to act. She emphasized the festival’s role in connecting business, technology, creativity and culture, with discussions continuing beyond formal sessions into networking events and social gatherings.
Connecting Ideas Across Different Industries
The 2027 edition will welcome artists, inventors, business leaders, founders and policymakers.
Arnander said the aim is to encourage connections, curiosity and practical optimism about the future of individual industries and society more broadly. The programme’s range reflects that ambition, bringing different professional perspectives into a shared setting.
SXSW London Builds on Its 2026 Edition
The theme announcement follows a 2026 festival that attracted more than 20,000 attendees, according to figures reported by SXSW London.

The festival’s 2026 screen programme hosted 100 screenings, spanning film and television.
Highlights included the UK premiere of Teenage Sex and Death in Camp Miasma, alongside world premieres of the animated series Get Jiro and the feature film Savage House.
These screenings formed part of a wider programme combining entertainment with the festival’s conference and music events.
